We're delighted to announce that following our 2011 routine inspection by the Wakefield Environmental Health Team, Xplore has once again been awarded 5 stars, the highest rating possible in the 'Scores on the Doors' scheme, signifying excellent standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.

Important Notice - Price Change

For the first time since Xplore opened nearly four years ago, we are implementing a price increase. Due to the recent increase in VAT and the ongoing increase of other goods and services, it has become necessary to make this change to our prices.

Since Xplore opened we have only ever decreased our entry prices. In fact, our new prices will still be lower than when we first opened our doors nearly four years ago. We thank you for your continued custom and support and hope that you understand the necessity of this change.

The new prices will apply from Monday 24 January 2011. Old prices will apply to existing bookings.

NEW UNDER 4'S AREA NOW OPEN!

We're really pleased to announce that the new Under 4’s area at Xplore is now open.

The exciting new 'U4 Zone' includes a mini astra-slide, a small ball pool and plenty of other new play equipment for your little Xplorers.

Visit us regularly and want an even better deal?

We now offer the XPASS, a membership card which grants your child unlimited entrance into Xplore. All that is required is a picture of your child and one simple form to fill in. Just top it up when it expires - no fuss, no recurring direct debits.

By car...

FREE PARKING with plenty of parent & child spaces!

Xscape is just next to the motorway and very easy to get to by car, simply leave the M62 at J32 and follow brown tourism signs for Xscape/Freeport. Xscape has 1,400 FREE parking spaces.

By bus...

There’s a dedicated train station at Xscape Castleford called Glasshoughton Station.

Rules of Play

For the safety of everyone that uses Xplore, we ask that your follow our rules of play.

• Children must be under 1.45m and under 12 years old to gain admission to the play area.



• Children (and adults!) must wear socks whilst using the play frame. Long sleeve tops are also advised.



• The tots area is strictly for children under 4yrs old.



• Children under 4 should not use the main frame without parental supervision.



• No food, drink or gum in the play area. Only food or drink purchased on the premises may be consumed in the cafe area.



• No shoes, ties, jewellery, spectacles (unless shatterproof) and any sharp objects, including badges and loose change in the play area.



• The management cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to property or personal belongings.



• Children who are clearly unwell should not use the facilities. No glassware is allowed in the play area.



• Please report any accident or injury to a member of our trained staff.



• Please allow plenty of time to consume any food you purchase from our cafe.



• Above all... HAVE FUN AT XPLORE!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a time limit?
Not usually. Although at peak times we may impose a time limit of 1.5 hours.

What age/height is the play area suitable for?
Children must be under 12 years old and less than 1.45 metres tall to play on the play frame. There is also a dedicated tots area for under 4s.

Do I need to pre-book?
It is not usually necessary to pre-book unless you have a birthday party or large group. However we can’t guarantee that there will not be a waiting time for entry at peak times.

Is there a minimum number for birthday parties?
Yes, you need to bring at least 7 people.

Will we have the play frame to ourselves?
We can take bookings for exclusive use of the play frame, but under normal circumstances you would share the frame with other customers. We can also open outside of our normal opening hours for private parties.
